It’s time to catch up on all of the main highlights at this year’s Commonwealth Games from a badminton perspective. So here’s a quick Commonwealth Games 2018 badminton Round-up.
The men’s singles saw Lee Chong Wei claim victory over former world number one Kidambi Srikanth from India. He won 19-21 21-14 21-14, meanwhile England’s Rajiv Ouseph took the bronze medal by beating India’s HS Prannoy fighting back after losing the first game, the match ended 17-21 25-23 21-9.
In the women’s single final two of India’s players battled it out as Saina Nehwal took on Pusarla V Sindhu winning 21-18 23-21. Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour claimed the bronze medal.

The mixed doubles saw an all England final as Chris Adcock/Gabrielle Adcock took on compatriots Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith and despite being edged out in the first game they came back to win the gold medal with score ending 19-21 21-17 21-16.
England’s Lauren Smith also had another chance of gold in the women’s doubles alongside her partner Sarah Walker. That dream was to be dashed as Malaysian pair Chow Mei Kuan and Vivian Hoo proved too much beating them convincingly 21-12 21-12.
However it was a different story in the men’s doubles as England’s Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis claimed gold against India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty with the match finishing 21-13 21-16.
It was India that claimed gold in the mixed team event with Malaysia taking the silver and England the bronze.
