Wycombe again played host to badminton as the English National Badminton Championships 2018 returned over the bank holiday weekend. Here’s a brief round-up of this year’s English Nationals Badminton winners.

Badminton Singles
In the women’s singles Chloe Birch was able to defend her title beating Georgina Bland 21-8, 21-16. Meanwhile in the men’s there was a bit more of a contest that saw Toby Penty beat defending champion Alex Lane over three games, 21-19, 21-14, 21-15.

Badminton Doubles
Switching focus to the doubles and it was Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith that took the mixed doubles crown winning 21-11 & 21-19. Smith would go on to add the women’s doubles title to her haul playing alongside Jess Pugh. It resulted in the pair beating Elizabeth Tolman and Abi Holden 21-17 & 21-9. The men’s doubles saw Matt Clare and Michael Roe take on Greg Mairs and Johnnie Torjessen winning 21-18, 21-10.
